Choosing the right cufflinks for you: the different types available
If you thought cufflinks were just cufflinks,
then you were wrong: there is a whole other world out there filled with
different types of cufflinks to achieve different looks, and if you are
just entering the cufflinks world for the first time then you are in
for an exciting ride!
The standard and most common
type of cufflinks is called a ‘swivel post cufflink’, whereby a single
decorative face is backed by a swivel mechanism that secures the
cufflink in place when placed through the respective button holes – one
side of the cuffs feature a decorative face and the other a single
silver or gold bar.
There is another variation on the chain link, which features a two decorative faces linked by a single post. These three types of cufflinks are perhaps the easiest to use out of all of the designer variations, and can easily be interchanged with different shirts to achieve the best overall look for a formal event.
