A Symbol of Pride

Cuf5PD-GRG-SL A Symbol of Pride

It’s a symbol of pride! My husband’s Georgetown University Hoyas cufflinks are his favorite accessories. He wears his college cufflinks for any occasion – board meetings, official dinners, court appearances. If he could, I think he would wear them to office everyday. I don’t blame him, though. The University opened up many opportunities and essentially gave him this wonderful life he now enjoys. He grew up in a poor country with parents who were too involved in social work to bother about amassing money for their son’s future. My husband was an aggressive, enterprising sort, you see, and he took it upon himself to better his situation. Georgetown University was the first college to accept his application and offer him a scholarship for law studies. It was only a partial scholarship, though, so he scrimped and saved every penny he could get his hands on and used this to buy books and support his college education. Poor as he was as a student, he never really got the chance to buy al the University paraphernalia and souvenirs. It was only when he had already graduated and found his first job that he could afford to buy any of the stuff he so longed for when he was still studying. I think these cufflinks were bought from his first salary! Ever practical, he thought of buying something that he could discreetly wear to work and as well as something that would complement his career as a lawyer. He made an excellent choice, don’t you think?
