You are probably wondering how your older sons become as pathetic and coy as they are and you thought that you have done everything to make a worthy gentleman in them. Perhaps, there was something along the way that you missed.
Pull out your checklist. You’ve taken them to the best schools. You’ve given them everything they need. They even have their own credit cards at such a young age. Basically, everything that the majority of the world cannot provide to their own sons, you were able to provide. But what could be missing?
No, we are not giving you a lecture in parenting. You probably expect to hear us telling you that you have not spent enough time with them or that you have spoilt them to immortality. We are not going to say those because you have seen such didactic themes in movies. You know that you have to take care of your sons closely and not just give them all the material goods. You know you love them and the very fact that you are questioning what else you haven’t given is a sign of your genuine concern.
So what’s missing? Absolutely nothing. And that’s the reason why they don’t grow up wondering if there is something missing in their life even if they already feel that there is. You have given them everything and that conditioned them to never want anything else in life. Because of that they don’t know how to live on their own. They don’t even know how to find the perfect designer cufflinks that match their boys polka dot ties. They should have learned that when they were younger. You sure have chosen them a great-looking Black with Light Yellow Dots Boys Tie back then but have you even considered letting them do the choosing just for once and allow them to make mistakes and solve the mistakes on their own?
