A few words on the fashion of men and men’s fashion in the dying days of winter
Men’s Fashion – words that together not only sound archaically classic and technologically hip but totally metaphoric and aesthetic in their literary force… the image of class, elegance, flair and the absolutely chic style come to mind… well come on.. even Shakespeare had the wisdom to count men’s fashion as a fundamental human issue (I would hope even women find this to be true!) – here goes he – “The fashion wears out more apparel than the man”. Apart from its place as a concern for mankind, fashion is indeed the daily bread and butter for in the daily life of a man; if that is his chosen item for breakfast, then fashion is as important for him! How many of us men have the temerity to dress scrappily to make time for breakfast, rather than dress classy and skip breakfast!?! Well I hope not many… at least I would rather skip breakfast!
Then this fashion, this absolutely inescapable object of being, the gorgeously stylish faithful companion of the capable man… what is it?? How do we court its friendship?? Well for me, fashion is being an Englishman everywhere in the world apart from Paris and a club… it is in essence, learning the fundamental science of being elegant and classy. It is the key for a man’s felicity in this moment, the next and for his whole life! It is biologically conditioned and humanly necessary. I hope that really convinced me of the necessity of fashion!
Now, fashion is like water in a vessel – the water has no choice but to fit the vessel! For every occasion, fashion demands that a man be in perfect accord with himself and his surroundings. Since the last few days of winter are upon us now, let us men’s fashionites take this opportunity to mend our broken hearts that we haven’t been able to show our stuff all these miserable cold days. Let’s bring out the fashion! So how can we really compromise between the style and warmth? We don’t need to… just go for style! Well, even if I do that… that might not be best option for all of us, so… keep reading with eager hearts for our suggestions on how to banish the winter uglies and wear warm fabrics with style.
Wool
Wool is one of the warmest fabrics to wear on a cold day, and the higher the quality of wool, the finer and thinner it is. So settle for a variety of wool that fits your frame and your pocket. Rather than always donning a traditional woolen suit or sweater, why not go for a striped jacket from Jacobs or Mexx? You could buy cotton and wool blended jackets that are not too heavy and not too thin. And to colour your world, consider woolen overs with subtle colours like turquoise or light orange. To show that your on top of your style, remember to mix and match it up with purpose… maybe a short jacket instead of a sweater on odd days.
Flannel
Flannel blazers and suits are smart buys, since they are cheaper and offer much warmth. And indeed, worn with a wool or suit over it, it can give you that supreme classy look. On casual nights, worn with a jeans and a pair of casual sneakers is also guaranteed to land you the short glances and long stares!
Fleece
Fleece pullovers are perfect for the first few days of summer… it provides the right bit of warmth and a slim fit with a great look.
