Old Buffalo nickel tail cufflinks. The old buffalo nickel tail coin was used between 1913 and 1938 and is also sometimes referred to as the Indian Head Nickel because it features the profile of a native American on the obverse. This particular design features the American bison on the reverse of the coin which is carefully hand painted to provide cufflink connoisseurs with one of the most beautiful full color U.S. coins ever made. The buffalo design, as set out by James Earle Fraser, has been reused in commemorative versions and rereleases of the coin, especially noteworthy in the 2005 editions of the New Buffalo nickel coin.
